Montalcino is a beautiful medieval village surrounded by  green fields and gentle rolling hills. Its many cypress - lined roads and its solitary farmsteads make it  a unique and special spot immersed in the enchanting scenery of Parco Naturale della Val d’Orcia, where Brunello, one of the most famous Italian wines, was born.

Do not miss

Montalcino is located a little further south of the fascinating town of Siena and west of Pienza, which is well-known for its pecorino cheese. All the villages in this area  are so small, old and picturesque and the atmosphere so unreal that time seems to have stood still since ancient times.

This region offers  such a wide range of wineries and wines that once you’re here you cannot miss out on a wine tasting in a local enoteca or in one of the many wineries in the area, which usually also offer the possibility to stay overnight in their own  holiday farms. Tuscany is in fact the first region in Italy  to have grasped the value of the perfect bond between wine and farm holidays.

Here you will have the chance to experience a unique food and wine holiday in the completely relaxed and charming atmosphere of one of the many holiday farms immersed in a beautiful landscape. A visit to  one of the cellars of Montepulciano is a must:  there you can taste the noble wine named after this famous city.

Moreover Montalcino is the ideal place where to spend a night if you are  interested in visiting also Sant’Antimo Abbey, Madonna di Vileta Church as well as  Santi Quirico e Giulitta Church in San Quirico d’Orcia.
