The  Chianti region, which is renowned internationally for the production of wine,  consists of the Provinces of Florence, Siena and  Arezzo, but the territory associated to the label  “Chianti Classico” is a more restricted area  to include only Greve, Gaiole, Radda, Castellina and Panzano (all the wines produced in these areas bear  the words “in Chianti” on the label, which usually follows the name of the area where the wine is produced).

Siena is also associated with the famous Vernaccia di San Gimignano, another important brand name, which also has international popularity. This wine, which is named after the town of San Gimignano, first obtained the DOC label in 1966 and later, in 1993, gained  the DOCG label. San Gimignano is a UNESCO world heritage site, famed worldwide for its towers and its great wine and food vocation and traditions.

Your stay

The land is so harmoniously shaped, its grapevine lines, its bright olive groves and  its tapered cypress trees so orderly set  that seen from a distance the whole landscape, with its beautiful colours instilling a feeling of peace and delight, seems to have been painstakingly designed: the beautiful rolling  hills of Tuscany, its small villages, Romanesque parish churches and its great wines have made this region well-known all over the world. This land is so enchanting that all too often you’ll find an excuse to stop along the way either to admire this breathtaking landscape and the beauty of its villages and  take a picture or to discover one of the many wine cellars of Chianti.

Every wine lover dreams to stay overnight  in a holiday farm at least once in a  lifetime – if you are interested in Italy as a  land of wine, visiting Chianti is a must (you cannot say you know Italy, the land of wine, if you have never visited Chianti).

Spending a night in one of the many holiday farms, wine resorts  or B&Bs in Tuscany is not simply enjoying  a holiday, but fully experiencing  a way of life, especially when the  holiday farm is located in a winery: here  wine with its perfumes enhances the  flavours  of food in every  season .
